Why individual therapy?
Whether you’re a seasoned client or brand new to counseling, individual therapy provides a safe space for you to develop insight around current challenges, learn new coping strategies, and adapt to inevitable and unpredictable life changes.
Maybe you have very specific, clear goals that you want to work towards; or maybe you feel torn or stuck, conflicted internally, confused about next steps or the “best” path forward. Either way, individual sessions give you an opportunity to figure all of that out — and more! — with the focused, nonjudgmental support of a trusted, unbiased third party, whose only objective is to help you thrive in accordance with your self-determined wishes.
Because one-on-one therapy is highly-attentive and 100% personalized, this particular modality may be especially helpful if you’re:
- Looking for completely customized talk therapy
- Uncomfortable with other modalities, like group counseling
- Interested in developing a deep level of self-awareness
- Interested in confronting problems or difficult emotions head-on
- Interested in pursuing change intensively or quickly
- Naturally introverted, prone to masking, or seeking intentional focus

Individual therapy adapts to your needs as you grow:
As an eclectic, collaborative, trauma-informed therapist, I draw on evidence-based approaches and techniques to help you develop short-term coping skills, long-term resilience, and self-actualization throughout.
In practice, this looks like:
1. Initial Contact
First, schedule a complimentary 10-minute phone consultation to connect, ask questions, and explore what it would feel like to work together one-on-one, with zero commitment or pressure.
2. Onboarding
Join my practice by completing informed consent documents and onboarding paperwork, where you can share what you’re going through, what you need, and what you value.
3. Attend Your First Session
During your intake appointment, we’ll meet by Zoom, and you can guide me through the challenges you’re facing, as well as what you’d like to achieve in our work together.
4. Personalized Continuing Care
Once I have a holistic view of who you are as a whole human, we can hone in on specific problem areas that are most meaningful to you, with the understanding that this will likely change over time as you progress toward your goals. Subsequent sessions involve a combination of setting and achieving goals, processing your past, and learning how to reliably manage your symptoms.
In one-on-one therapy sessions, you can look forward to a collaborative, human-first professional relationship where you can work toward your goals safely and securely.
I’m here to bear witness and support you in finding fulfillment through individual therapy.
With well over a decade in various clinical mental health settings, I’ve spent the vast majority of my career serving primarily adults, primarily in outpatient mental health settings — and primarily in individual therapy.
I love working one-on-one with adults of all ages to build self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a life that reflects their most authentic Self — this is my bread-and-butter modality, and my biggest professional passion.
While I can’t work harder than you or give you a magic wand to erase your struggles, I can promise to do my best to make sure you leave each session feeling more empowered than you started, and more confident in meeting your own needs outside of sessions — no matter what else may come up in life.
